6 Ways To Increase Email Marketing Effectiveness
I am sure you’re struggling on increasing the effectiveness of your email marketing. Yes, everybody is. You have a long customer list who you send emails using an email marketing software. But you are getting very low opening rate or conversion is not happening. The possible reasons may be (1) your email just failed to attract customers’ attention; (2) your customers don’t think they are the right recipient; (3) your customers don’t expect your emails.
So the main reason is, you are sending emails that don’t interest your customers.
The first rule of making your emails interesting to your customers is to make sure you are sending the right message to the right audience.
- Build genuine list — Yes, never buy bulk email list and upload onto your system. It doesn’t work. Build genuine list even if it is to start from scratch.
- Segment your email list — Yes, segment your list as per your customers’ interest. Say, you can create a separate list named after men’s watch or ladies bags; and send them only the relevant emails.
- Pay attention to your subject line — Remember — the first thing that your customer sees is the subject line. Take a good care of it. Use action verb first to make your customer take action. Also you can use emojis, it helps your email stands out from the crowd. Also you can bring the NAME of your customer on your subject line. For this, you need to have NAME in your email list in addition to email address.
- Personalize your message — When you’re writing the message inside the email body, make sure you are personalizing the message, meaning you are talking to the person. Also address your customer with name. If you use mailchimp, you can write: Dear *|FNAME|* And when your customer named Steve receives it, he will see Dear Steve, which is more engaging and attractive to him.
- Use relevant image/ design — Images communicate faster than anything. Use images in email may be with a little design. I use pexels.com for images and canva.com for design.
- Use signature and logo — Using signature and logo gives the brand identity to your emails. Make sure you use them with proper information.
